I'm Ms.Wall, the English Tutor.
I am a former English teacher that left the classroom to start my own personal tutoring company! I tutor locally, serving over 30 families in the Howard County, MD area AND provide online tutoring services to students from both near and far :-)! I help students build confidence in a class that is often times a struggle- English/ Language Arts- by fostering an environment where students feel safe and cared for. Pandemic Policy
If tutoring sessions are face-to-face, please be sure that you following pandemic policies!

* If ANYONE in the household is experiencing flu-like symptoms and/or running a fever, PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP, so that we can reschedule our session.
(I, too, will do the same)

* Student should wash hands prior to starting session.
​
*Space used for tutoring sessions should be kept clean and sanitized at all times.
SAT test prep & College App Prep/Planning
Whether it be the SAT, MCAP, or college/high school entrance exams- while these tests are standardized, preparing for them doesn't have to be- I teach each student in a way that they want to learn.

I provide support for HS students looking to prepare for the college application process-college essay, applications, scholarship support- we can accomplish the whole task together!
General academic assistance
No obstacle is too large- I design my teaching and sessions to fit the needs of the student. Whether it be a one-on-one or small group session, students will have the environment they need in order to learn at whatever pace is best. During the academic school year, our focus will be supporting your child in his/her ELA class with general academic support. Additional work will not be assigned, unless requested by student/parent.
Summer Sessions
Summer is the perfect time to work on those skills and areas that your child struggles with. Similar to a little "summer school" workshop, students will be provided with all materials to complete work both during our time together, as well as "homework" to complete before our next session. This is also a great time for HS Juniors to work on college prep tasks!
